A corporate office block in central Bristol integrated IBOS into the whole building’s infrastructure, including the Building Management System (BMS), central plant, chillers, boilers, Air Handling Units (AHUs), Low-Temperature Hot Water (LTHW) systems, and extract fans.
Insights
The identification of the building plant operating outside of set parameters revealed the cause of out-of-hours energy usage. As a result, plant run times were restricted to aid in energy reduction.
Additionally, issues with the setup of the boiler and chiller systems were identified, allowing for more efficient use of these systems and a consequent reduction in energy consumption.
