Background

1,000,000 Sq Ft

A shopping centre  located on the edge of Glasgow integrated IBOS into the entire building’s infrastructure, including the Building Management System (BMS), central plant, chillers, boilers, Air Handling Units (AHUs), Low Temperature Hot Water (LTHW) systems, and extract fans. Since its opening in 2007, the building has consistently attracted a high volume of visitors, with a record breaking 15.2 million footfall in 2024.

Insights

Through 24/7 monitoring of the central mechanical and electrical equipment, along with air quality sensors, IBOS has seamlessly integrated with the onsite teams at Silverburn to enhance day to day operations. This has helped ensure optimal building performance while maintaining a comfortable and healthy environment for both occupiers and visitors.

“Since integrating IBOS, we have seen significant improvements in operational efficiency, with notable reductions in energy use and costs. The system’s insights have been key to our Net Zero commitment, and we plan to expand its use across other systems to further enhance sustainability and savings.” – Building manager
